I’d say schools probably need to rotate out these balls every three years: 1st year, practice only to break in. second year, game ready. I think the Wilson Solutions are better overall balls when fairly new, but I haven’t seen enough of them to know how durable they are. Pros: Reasonably durable, good grip, seems to hold air well when fairly new, and its a good mix of the old leather feel in a microfiber ball. at least, where I am. I’m a basketball official and this ball is used in probably 80% or more of the high school gyms I work in, both for the boys and girls side. If I were a high school coach, however, I’d regularly practice with both the Spalding and Wilson lines as that’s what you’ll see at away games. As you can see, if you are going to use the heck out of this ball (for lots of games and practices) be prepared to replace it regularly.
