The problem is that I can’t seem to blade backward, whereas my little brother(7), dad, and younger sister (14) are all able to- they have hockey skates. They will be more manueverable on a hockey rink but not as fast or stable when skating somewhere. It would be slightly easier if the skates are rockered. Rockering mimics the curve of ice skates and makes it easier to turn sharp. Some rec skates (the picture you had) can be rockered but most cannot. I mostly use mine on the sidewalks in my neighborhood, but my dad’s been teaching me how to play hockey with them at a local rink....
